2008 Bike Route Map
It is each participant’s responsibility to know the bike course. There will be police officers and sheriffs at all critical areas. Volunteers will be stationed throughout the course directing you, along with signage on the route. Please take the time to drive the course prior to the race to eliminate any confusion. Referees will be on the course making sure participants are obeying all traffic laws, including wide turns. Referees will assess penalties for drafting and other racing violations. For questions regarding drafting rules, please go to www.usatriathlon.org.
Bike Route: You will exit the transition area and head North and then East around the baseball fields until the Cherry Creek Trail where you will turn left or North. Just before E-470 you will turn left onto the trail so you are headed West along the 470 bike trail. You will take this until Chambers Road where you will turn Right and head North. Next you will turn left onto Compark Blvd. to Peoria St. where you will turn left or South. You will then take a right onto Liberty Blvd to the turn around point. You will come back the way you came, except instead of going along the 470 path you will stay on Chambers until Aventerra Pkwy where you will turn left or East. At Jordan Rd. you will turn right or South until you get to Recreation Blvd. where you will turn left and go back to the transition area.
Please take the time to learn the bike route and drive it or ride it beforehand to make sure there isn't any confusion. We will have sheriffs/police officers at all critical points as well as volunteers along the route.
Bike Safety Information: Please make sure that you have the ‘plugs’ at each end of your handle-bars. If you can see inside your handle-bars while looking at the end, yours are missing! The USAT rules state that you can be disqualified for safety reasons if you are missing these ‘plugs’. These are available at any bike store and are inexpensive. We try to go around in the transition area and catch any that are missing on race day, but want to make sure you are aware of this rule ahead of time!
**For the safety of all athletes, all bikes must be racked 45 minutes prior to swim time. It is your responsibility to make sure your bike is in racing condition.**

All bikes need to be racked 45 minutes prior to swim time. Please be courteous to other racers. We will make every attempt to keep the transition area clear; only participants will be allowed in the transition area. This is to your benefit, to prevent injury and theft. Please help us in this endeavor by keeping your supporters out of the area. Helmets must be strapped onto your head prior to exiting and upon re-entering the transition area.
