Swim:
The athletes will start with the swim; see above for the distances. Please note that each racer needs to be able to swim the age appropriate distance without any assistance. Swimmers are allowed to stop at the ends of the pool if they need to. The 6-8 year olds will start at the shallow end of the pool and 1 parent will be allowed to help them out at the other end.
Bike:
After the swim, the racers will go to the transition area to get their bike, helmet and shoes and continue to the bike course. We will have the racing area clearly marked and have volunteers directing the kids to the bike path going South (click here for rough map). Kids 9-14 will head South on the bike path and then North. We will adjust the distances for each age group.
Run:
The 6-8 year olds will run around the baseball fields and then head back to the transition area. The 9-11 year olds will run around the baseball fields two times, then head back to the transition area. The 12-14 year olds will run around the soccer fields and baseball fields two times.
Transition Area:
We need all kids to have their bikes racked by 7:30 am inside the transition area. We will have it fenced off and clearly marked where the kids enter and exit for each leg of the race. We need to try and keep the transition area as clear as possible so we are asking that only 1 parent per child enter and help them set up (if needed). Helmets must be strapped onto your head before exiting and upon re-entering the transition area.

August 12th from 9AM-2PM at the Parker Recreation Center. Meetings will be held at 10am and 1pm. We encourage all participants (and parent) to attend one of the meetings, especially if this is the participant’s first triathlon. We will go over the course, rules and answer any questions you may have. We will also be announcing any last minute changes.
*The city of Parker requires all racers to have a signed waiver by their parents which will be done at packet pick-up. Each child will need to have their own parents sign their waivers. If the waivers are not signed, the child will not be allowed to race.

We are asking if parents of the racers can help with the race in some form or another. We need about 40 volunteers to put the race on. Safety is our number 1 priority for our young triathletes. We will need help in the following areas: counting swim laps for the older kids, directing kids to and from each leg of the race, keeping kids on track on the bike course, counting laps for the run… If you would like to help out or know of anyone that would like to help, please email Natalie at: info@fallfrenzy.com. The race will go pretty fast, especially for the younger children that have the shorter distances.

All racers will receive a finisher’s award as they cross the finish line. We will also be giving away awards for EACH AGE for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in their age. (e.g. 6 year olds, 7 year olds, 8 year olds….). We want to encourage these young athletes as much as we can!
Food and beverages will be provided after the race for the participants.
We will have a d.j. to play fun and motivating music for all to enjoy.

INSURANCE: ALL ENTRANTS MUST BE COVERED BY USAT INSURANCE!
NON-MEMBERS: The cost of the annual membership is $5. USAT no longer sells the one-day license, but the annual membership is valid for one full year and can be used at any USAT events. To make things easier and quicker at packet pick-up, we encourage you to purchase the insurance ahead of time by clicking on the following link www.usatriathlon.org/Membership. Please remember to bring proof of the insurance, whether you bring the card you receive in the mail or by printing a temporary card. If you choose not to purchase the insurance ahead of time, you will need to fill out an extra waiver at packet pick-up and pay the $5 per child via cash or check only.
MEMBERS: If you have already purchased a USAT membership for your child, please be sure to have them bring their USAT card to packet pick-up. If they forget, parents will have to sign waivers and pay the $5. If your child has a photo ID, they must present it with proof of their current annual membership. If they do not have a photo ID, their parent who can present one must accompany them.
**Parents, if you are a USAT member, your card is not valid for your child. They need their own USAT card/number
